Abstract
381,485. Converting. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TELEGRAPHIE SANS FIL, 79, Boulevard Haussmann, Paris. March 29, 1932, No. 9025. Convention date, April 18, 1931. Addition to 381,087. [Class 38 (ii).] In an arrangement for producing high frequency oscillations of substantially constant frequency in which a photo-electric cell is subjected to rays which are modulated at high frequency by means under the control of a master oscillator generating oscillations of relatively low and substantially constant frequency, as described in the parent Specification, rays from a luminous source are caused to move over a fixed interrupting screen located between the source and the photo-electric cell. The low frequency oscillations from the master oscillator are employed to drive a synchronous motor, having a hollow shaft 18 carrying a mirror 13 or prism which causes rays from a source 5 to sweep round a cylindrical mirror 14 associated with a lens 15 whereby the rays are directed upon the photo-electric 6. An interrupting screen having a series of apertures located in the path of the rotating beam is provided, for example at 16 or at 17. Various modifications may be - made in the optical arrangements ; for example, the mirror 13 may be omitted, the tube 19 being then mounted at such an angle with respect to the shaft as to direct the rays on to the mirror 14.
