Abstract

Solid pure naphthalene or similar substances such as acenaphthene, diphenyl and diphenylene oxide occurring in coal tar are obtained from the pure molten substance by solidification on cooling drums, the product being removed from the drums by scrapers. It is stated that the setting point of the solid is about 0,1-0,2 DEG C. higher than that of the solid obtained by known methods.
