Abstract

380,889. Colour photography. PILLER, F., 7, Sendlingertorplatz, Munich, Germany. July 23, 1931, No. 21066. [Class 98 (ii).] To obtain correct registration of negatives and colour screens in photographic printing, a registering element in the form of a mask is applied to the colour screen through which the negative is taken, or to the object photographed. As shown, a line f of opaque, easily-removable paint is applied to one side of the multi-colour line screen r through which the negative n is taken, the line being wide enough to cover one colour aggregate. After exposure, the line f is removed, the picture area is protected by a mask or shutter, and the plate is exposed through the screen to coloured light, e.g. yellow, to obtain a line adapted to register with the blue elements on the printing paper. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which a coloured object f<1> is arranged in an inconspicuous manner in the picture. In a further modification the taking screen is provided, at one side, with lines of a definite colour, halation being avoided by a backing strip. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 12645/96, [Class 98, Photography], and 18900/12, [Class 98 (ii), Photographic processes &c.].
