Abstract
377,173. Magazine gramophones. SIEBURGH, L. A., 286, Koningin Wilhelminalaan, Voorburg, Holland. Jan. 16, 1931, No. 1549. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (ii).] A pile of disc records of different sizes in a stationary magazine are released singly from the bottom and received by grab devices which lower them on to a device which rotates them for playing. After one side of the record has been played the grabs again engage the record to turn it over for playing the other side, after which the grabs re-engage and lower the record to a magazine below. Each magazine includes a tube engaging a central aperture in the records, and the pile in the upper magazine is supported on segmental plates projecting through the central tube and operable by withdrawal and vertical movement of some of these to separate the bottom record from the remainder so that it can be engaged by the jaws of the grabs. The grabs now descend with the record to deposit it on a series of radially arranged conical driven rolls by which the record is rotated for playing. When one side is played the grabs re-engage, the reproducer is lifted and swung clear, and the driving rolls which are supported at their outer ends on pivots are lowered into a vertical position to permit of the record being turned over by the grabs. The driving rolls now swing up into driving position and the reverse side of the record is played, after which the driving rolls again move back to permit the grabs to lower the played record into the bottom magazine. The grab jaws have central cores which by engagement with the edge of the record operate to control the interaction of the parts. The arrangement described with reference to the drawings filed is not described clearly.
