Abstract

370,594. Ground anchors. WAUTON, C. A. N., Bush House, Aldwych, London. March 5, 1931, No. 6904. [Class 45.] A ground anchor comprises a plunger 2 which is slidably mounted in a casing 1 which is provided with a pointed end 5 for driving into the ground and with longitudinal apertures 11. Blades 8 are pivoted at 9 to the slotted lower end 7 of the plun. ger. A plug 13 is passed through registering apertures 14, 15 in the casing and plunger respectively and the anchor is driven into the ground, the plug preventing relative movement of the plunger and casing. The plug is then withdrawn and the plunger is caused to slide within the casing whereby the blades are forced outwardly through the apertures 11 into anchoring position. The plunger and casing are then relocked by passing the plug 13 through the apertures 14 and an aperture 17 in the plunger.
