Convention date, March 20. [Class 100 (ii).] Embossed wooden stoppers for bottles &c. are made from blanks 58 cut transversely to the grain, by compressing them laterally in a diehole 51, into which the blanks are forced by a cameo-die 59 having elevations 62, 64, 65 for embossing the upper surfaces of the blanks and for supporting the blanks when they are laterally compressed. The lower sides of the blanks are embossed by a die 61 which is cut in intaglio. The elevations 64, 65 are disposed near the edge of. the die, so that they support the blanks during compression.
