Abstract

364,724. Dashpots. AVERY, Ltd., W. & T. and TIMSON, W., Soho Foundry, Birmingham. Oct. 29, 1930, No. 32465. [Class 108 (iii).] In a dashpot governed by a thermostatic element which compensates for variations of viscosity of the liquid with changes of temperature, liquid flows through holes 4 in the piston and between the top of the piston and the upper disc 7, the gap between the piston and the disc 7 being varied in accordance with the temperature by an ebonite tube 10 carrying the disc and having a different coefficient of expansion from the piston 2 to which it is connected at its upper end by an adjustable screw 11. The lower disc 5 is forced away from the piston by light springs 6.
