Abstract

<PICT:0364716/IV/1> A sheet of a cellulose acetate which is capable of being softened for moulding or shaping purposes, is so incised that in the softened condition its capacity for expansion and extension enables it to follow the contour of the object or body over which it is moulded or shaped without destroying its properties as a support on resuming or being brought into the hardened condition. The incisions may be in substantially parallel rows, with the incisions of each row arranged in staggered relation to those of adjacent rows, so that on expansion a lattice-like structure is obtained, as shown in the Figure.
