Abstract

364,209. Steering toys &c. LATHAM, T., 7, Church Street, Southport, Lancashire. Oct. 13, 1930, No. 30522. [Class 132 (iii).] An automatic steering mechanism for a self-propelled device comprises a disc or plate A moving in a plane at right-angles to and above the rudder or steering stem E and provided on its underside with. pairs of adjustable projections B adapted to engage the ends of a crosshead D on the stem, which when not so engaged ' is resiliently returned to a straight-course position. Each pair of projections B is carried by a plate adjustable by a screw C between annular flanges depending from the disc A. The position of each pair of projections is indicated by an index on the plate viewable through an aperture M and registering with a scale on the upper surface of the disc. The Provisional Specification describes a construction in which the disc is provided with radial slots for the adjustable attachment of studs for engagement with the crosshead.
