Addition to 361,326, [Group V]. [Class 89 (iii).] In apparatus for covering two or more wires with a common coating by extrusion and then vulcanizing the covering as in the parent case, a stapling - appliance 25 is used to secure the end of the new wire to the continuous wire, whenever a reel is exhausted. The staple-holder 35 is lowered from the staple - receiving position, shown in dotted lines, to the acting position, shown in full lines, by rotating the handle 50. When the head 31 of the spring plunger is struck by a mallet, the inner end 33 co-operates with the holder 35 to apply the staple to the wires.
