Abstract
358,264. Valve generating circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Marconi House, Strand, London.- (Assignees of Hansell, C. W.; Port Jefferson, New York, U.S.A.) Sept. 26, 1930, No. 28913. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] The frequency of an oscillation generator is stabilized by producing standing waves in a line which react back on the oscillator to stabilize the frequency. Fig. 1 shows an oscillator 1 inductively coupled to a resonant line 10 tuned by slider 11. The oscillator may be of high power and in a modification the line is capacitatively coupled to the oscillator. Fig. 4 shows the application to a push-pull two stage amplifier coupled to an aerial array 28 modulation being effected through an amplifier 51 adapted to vary the grid bias of valve pair 19, 20. The line may be so constructed that it is shielded and independent of temperature variation, or may be temperature controlled. The line may comprise a coil wound on a dielectric of high strength and placed in a hermetically sealed container which may be evacuated or gas-filled. Specification 342,976 is referred to.
