Abstract

355,793. Moulding tubular blocks &c. WALKER, F. T., 27, Derbyshire Lane, Sheffield. May 22, 1930, Nos. 15789/30 and 5627/31. [Class 87 (ii).] Tubular blocks &c. are made by mounting a mould comprising outer walls b, a base g, and a core j screwed in the base, on a vertical screw e which may be driven through belt and spur gearing. A fixed plate m having an aperture for the passage of the core is mounted on pillars k which pass through the base g of the mould. The mould is elevated till the plate m is at the required depth in the mould and the concrete &c. is then charged into the annular part of the mould. After the material has set the mould is lowered to strip the block, leaving the block mounted on the plate m. The mould may be provided with stops 5, which automatically disengage the drive for the screw e at the required points. The material may be charged from a hopper in which works a rotary agitator.
