[Class 134.] A furniture support adapted to have a tilting action with respect to the furniture leg comprises a solid floor-engaging base 10, of material such as that known under the registered Trade Mark "Bakelite," attached to the leg by means including a tubular stud or pin 20 engaged at its lower end within an aperture 14 extending through the base 10, the upper portion of the pin being adapted to be driven into the leg by blows applied to it through the aperture 14. The upper portion of the stud 20 carries a cup-shaped portion 18 having teeth 19, the bottom of the cup 18 resting on a spherical dome 12 of the base 10 with a concavo-convex washer 23 interposed. The washer and cup are retained between a shoulder 21 and a swedged flange 22 on the pin. The bottom of the pin is formed with a rounded head 24 and is flared as at 25 so as to engage with a shoulder 15 and a flared wall 16 of the base 10 in the tilted position. The upper portion of the pin 20 is sharpened by bevelling as at 26, and may be provided with annular grooves to increase the grip on the wood. The pin and teeth are driven into the wood by striking a detachable driving pin 28 having a shoulder 29 inserted in the aperture 14, with a stud 30 inserted in the pin 20 to retain the parts in a straight position during attachment.
