Abstract
351,487. Code telegraphy. CREED & CO., Ltd., Telegraph Works, and JARVIS, F. W., 30, Westbourne Road, both in Croydon. March 26, 1930, No. 9639. [Class 40 (iii).] At a repeater station in a double-current simplex line, the relays for controlling the direction of traffic are fed from dry metal or other rectifiers so arranged as to prevent chattering of the relay contacts. When idle, the lines 1, 7 are earthed through distant receivers (not shown) and the repeater station is in the condition shown. When traffic is to pass from line 1 to line 7, a. spacing current is put on line 1 and energizes relay 8 by way of rectifier bridge 5. Relay 8 cuts in switch 6, which connects the out line 7 to the tongue of transmitting relay 3 fed bv line 1, at the same time cutting off line 7 from the winding 10 of its own transmitting relay. Message impulses, rectified by the bridge 5 and smoothed by the shunted condenser 4, keep the relay 8 continuously energized and maintain a firm contact.
