350,608. Uniting by fusion. FORRESTER, H. J. C., 88, Chancery Lane, London.-(Stoody Co. ; Whittier, California, U.S.A.) March 22, 1930, No. 9279. [Class 83 (iv).] A welding-rod comprises a tubular container of low melting point containing in granular form a material which will not melt at the welding temperature. A container 1 of mild steel contains granular particles 2 of a substance of high melting point such as black diamonds, or tungsten carbide, the particles in the latter case being of sufficient size to prevent them readily melting in the operation. The rod is more particularly for use in a process as described in Specification 350,607.
