Abstract
349,124. Telegraph exchange systems. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Feb. 18, 1930, No. 5431. Convention date, Feb. 19, 1929. Addition to 306,406, [Class 40 (iii), Telegraphs, Electric]. [Class 40 (iii).] An automatic exchange for printing telegraph lines, of the kind described in the parent Specification, is adapted to utilize automatic switches ot standard construction. To this end the four-wire connections internal to the exchange are replaced by two-wire connections together with an earth or other common return, one wire being required for each direction of traffic. Thus outgoing signals from the transmitting relay S1 at the station T1 are received over the line L by the exchange relay E1 and passed to the sending-on relay S<1>3 for another station T3 via earth return, the single wire a, and switch-arm o on its third contact. Similarlv incoming signals from sender S3 at station T3 are received by the receiving relay E<1>1 at station T1 via exchange relay E3, earth return, armature e3, wire a3, switch arm k in its third position, single wire b, and sending-on relay S<1>1.
