Abstract
348,090. Optical-projection apparaus. MILATZ, W. F. J., 44, Mauritsweg, Rotterdam, Holland. Oct. 29, 1929, No. 32874. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1928. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 97 (i).] Still images are projected in predetermined succession on to the same screen area by means of shutters ; the projection periods of the images may overlap, and the images may depict characteristic phases of movement of a subject. As shown in Fig. 1, diapositives 10, 11, 12 are illuminated with the aid of a condenser 5 and mirrors 6, and are projected by lenses 1, 2, 3 on to a screen 14. A shutter 15 having openings 1a, 2a, 3a, Fig. 2, rotates to permit the beams to pass in succession. The openings may be differently arranged and may overlap. The diapositives and lenses may be triangularly arranged, and each may be illuminated by a system comprising, as shown in Fig. 5, reflectors 17, 18, 19 and a light source L ; a rotating shutter covering two lenses at a time may be provided, or a separate shutter may be provided for each lens. Colour filters, kaleidoscopic discs, &c., may be provided to enhance the effect.
