Abstract

347,399. Selecting index cards. INFALLIBLE CARD SELECTING CO., Ltd. and TAYLOR, E. W., 9, Pitsford Street, Birmingham. March 8, 1930, No. 7607. Addition to 281,949, [Class 106 (i), Calculating &c.]. [Class 106 (i).] A cabinet for filing and sorting index cards according to the parent Specification is provided with means for facilitating the inversion of the cabinet whereby the sorted card falls out. These means comprise annular offset rings 20, 21 attached to the cabinet 1 and mounted by rollers or balls 25 in stationary rings 22, 23, the latter being adjustably mounted for alignment by screws 41. A handwheel 34 is attached to the front 6 for rotating the cabinet. The card-sorting rods 5 with twisted ends 19 do not move axially but are rotated by hinged, slotted levers 18 actuated by keys 15 as in Specification 345,467. The housing 16, 17 for these keys is attached by four lugs and by screws 29 to four bosses 30, 30, 31, 31 on the cabinet front 6. For correct engagement the member 17 has projections 32, 33 taking into corresponding apertures in the front 6. Rubber-faced stops limit the rotation of the cabinet to 180‹.
