Abstract

345,033. Infusers. STOTT & CO. (ENGINEERS), Ltd., J. and SCHOFIELD, L., Lee Street, Oldham. Feb. 4, 1930, No. 3747. [Class 129.] Apparatus for infusing beverages comprises two chambers, one above the other, the upper containing the beverage and the lower the water, and a controlled method of transferring the hot water to the beverage. In the form shown, water is placed in the container 2 and coffee or tea &c. in the strainer 6 in the container 3. As the gas burner 15 heats the water, the ball float 7 rises causing the block 8 to close the hole 4 at the base of the container 3. The boiling water then rises in the container 2 and pours through the holes 5 on to the coffee. At the same time water enters the pipe 9, flows into the pipe 10 and lifts the float 12 of the thermostat 11 in the gas supply pipe 14 and regulates the gas supply. The strainer 6 may be dispensed with.
