Abstract

343,303. Cakestands. THOMPSON, F. B., 50, Highbury New Park, Highbury, London. Feb. 5, 1930, No. 3933. [Class 52 (v).] The trays 13 of a cakestand are pivoted to the uprights 5 by means of a T-headed member 10, fixed to the tray, of which the head 9 works in a socket 2 fixed to the frame member 5. The T-head normally turns in the circular upper part of the socket, but when the tray is horizontal the T-head slides down into the part 1 of the socket, where it is prevented from rotating. The member 10 may be arranged for clamping on to the tray 13, which may then be of china or the like. Springs may be used to keep the head 9 normally in the circular part of the socket, and a spring-pressed ball may be provided in the head to engage a recess in the socket to hold the tray in its out of use position.
