Abstract
341,880. Slicing meat. DAVIES, J. H., Alexandra House, Llandrindod Wells, Radnorshire. Sept. 16, 1929, No. 28017. [Class 28 (ii).] A band having inwardly projecting teeth is attached to the mouth of a container used in slicing-apparatus of the kind described in Specifications 301,937 and 302,197, [both in Class 28 (ii), Kitchen and like appliances &c.], the teeth engaging the meat and restraining the outward movement, thereby preventing the collapse of the last thin portion. The band may be fitted to a rectangular container, but as shown in Fig. 2, is applied to a cylindrical container. The teeth B are formed integral with the band C and are bent over to engage the peripheral parts of the meat. Fig. 5 shows a number of forms of teeth that may be used, whilst, in the modification shown in Fig. 6, the inwardly projecting portion of the band is provided with slits b<2> to permit yielding movement as the slab is fed forwards. The band is clamped in position by a bolt D so that it may be removed to permit the lid to be placed on the container. The teeth may be formed on segments secured by studs or screws to the band.
