Abstract

341,028. Photo-mechanical printing. DITTMANN, T., 4, Hinter der Kirche, Neumunster, Germany. July 5, 1929, No. 20679. [Class 98 (ii).] The separate images for the colour printing surfaces required for multi-colour printing are obtained from a single photographic image, the required density gradation of each image being obtained by a series of partial exposures through a plurality of different masks used in succession and with different exposures through successive masks. Half-tone screens may be used during the exposures. The single photographic image may be a diapositive and the reproduction thereof effected by contact printing through a half-tone screen. A particular process for three-colour printing is described.
