Abstract

337,955. Ionides, A. C. Oct. 28, 1929. Pressure regulating and reducing valves.- Apparatus for controlling the pressures of fluids or maintaining a desired relationship between the pressures of two fluids, such as gas and air, comprises two separate chambers a, b each in communication with a. limb of a liquid-filled U- tube arrangement, i, k, j, in the limbs i, j of which two hollow floats i<1>, j<1> are arranged. The said floats i<1>, j<1> are interconnected by a fulcrummed beam l and are flexibly connected to the spindles of two balanced valves e, e<1> and f, f<1> respectively which control the flow of fluids into the chamber a and b through the inlet ports c, d. In this way the fluid pressures in the chambers a and b may be controlled or, by varying the weights &c. of the parts connected to the valves e, f, may be maintained at a fixed relationship to one another. The spindle of one of the valves, such as f, f<1>, may be carried through the casing to an adjustable fulcrumed balance weight (not, shown) in order to balance, the arrangement to a greater or lesser extent.
