Abstract

335,665. Dawes, J. A. July 16, 1929. Reel and non-endless web apparatus. - An indicating device for use in setting or adjusting parts of machines or machine tools comprises a band 1 bearing, in a plurality of columns, transverse rows of tabulated information, the band being mounted on reels &c. 2, 3 housed in a casing 4 bearing markings corresponding to the different columns on the band. The band is traversed by knobs 13, 14 so as to be visible through one or more elongated windows which display only a single transverse row of data at a time. The casing 4 is closed by end plates 5, 6 one or both of which are detachable and which carry the reel bearings. A transverse member 8 fixed on the plate 6 is engaged by a screw 9 which holds the parts together, the member 8 preferably acting also as a support for holding the displayed portion of the band against the window.
