Abstract

334,498. Papalia, M. April 2, 1929. Perforated strip transmitters ; telegraphy teaching.-In a transmitter for use in the teaching of telegraphy, a strip 9, perforated with three sets of holes, is drawn by star-wheels 8 over the ends 21 of three levers 11 which are insulated from one another and pivoted on a shaft 10, so that when the end 21 of one of the levers rises through a perforation in the strip the corresponding contacts 12, 13 close the circuit of a receiving instrument. A cylinder 14 holds two of the levers 11 out of action at a time, the remaining lever being free to work in a groove formed on the surface of the cylinder. The latter can be turned by means of the knob 16 so as to select the required lever.
