Roll-film cameras.-In apparatus for maintaining the film drawn from one spool to another in tension, comprising a disc which moves with one of the spools and is engaged by a friction member which is resiliently urged in a direction to tension the film, the member engaging the disc B, Fig. 2, which moves with the spool D, comprises a spring clip or collar E, having one or more portions e<1> in the form of loops, and preferably such that no portion engages the disc for more than half the circumference. The disc B is mounted on a spindle rotating in the side of the camera K or spool casing, the spindle having cross pins to engage the ordinary slots at the ends of spools. In one construction, Fig. 8, the disc B rotates between two plates M, M<1> in the camera K, and the spindle C with the cross pins c is retractable. Alternative constructions are described for the spring F tending to rotate the collar E, the motion of which is limited by a stop e in the path of the loops e<1>. In one construction the binding action of the collar E is adjusted by a screw e<2>.
