Abstract
329,985. Newman, H. S., and Bullers, Ltd. Feb. 21, 1929. Cotters.-An expansible cotter-pin comprises more than two limbs of soft metal which are secured side by side and may be permanently forced apart. In one construction, the cotter-pin is formed from a strip of soft brass bent as shown in Fig. 1, the inner limbs 2 being held together by a rivet 3 near the bends 7. In one modiflled construction of cotter-pin (Fig. 3), in order to retain the width of the unexpanded cotter-pin to a minimum, the outer limbs may be bent to conform to the shape of the inner limbs.
