Feeding webs.-A cloth-expanding roller consisting of two sets of bars b, b<1> carrying bowls g engaging fixed inclined cam wheels f which cause the bars b, b<1> to move nearer together and further apart as the roller rotates is covered with rubber strips or a rubber sleeve a<1> secured at its ends to the outer ends of the bars b, b<1>. The strips or sleeve may be secured also at the mid point to the roller.
