Delivering articles selectively from a multiple arrangement of containers. - Articles are stored in vertical boxes 26, Fig. 2, each having two compart ments 27, 28, one compartment being posi tioned above each hinged bottom panel of a group of panels 1- 16, Fig. 1. Between adjacent boxes 26 are superposed horizontally slidable magazine trays 56, Figs. 2 and 9. Each hinged panel 1- 16 is supported by two tongues 1<2>-16<2>, 1<3>- 16<3>, one set of tongues 1<2>-16<2> projecting from parallel rows of bars A<1>-A<4> and the other set 1<3>-16<3> from transverse bars B<1>-B<4>. The bars A<1>-B<4> are connected by cords 17-24 to slidable members 29, 32, Fig. 3, having hooks 30, 33 normally held clear of a bar 31. A hook 30 associated with one of the bars A<1>-A<4> and a hook 33 associated with one of the bars B<1>-B<4> is moved into the path of the bar 31, against the action of a spring 38, when a key 1<4>-16<4>, Fig. 4, on a keyboard 39 is pressed. The bar 31 is then operated manually to engage the hooks 30, 33 and so slide one horizontal bar A<1>-A<4> and one transverse bar B<1>-B<4>. Both tongues supporting one panel corresponding to the operated key 1<4>- 16<4> are thus removed and the lowermost article in that column is released and delivered down a shoot, the remaining articles in the pile being supported by a clamping pin secured to the bars B<1> - - B<4>. Each vertical pile of trays 56 has a pivoted rod 64 with pins 66 which advance all the trays when a cord 68 is pulled. To each horizontal row of trays 56 is a sliding rod 60 having a pin 61 for each tray. The cords 68 and cords operating the rods 60 are connected to mechanism similar to that of Fig. 3 so that when a key on a board similar to that of Fig. 4 and the bar 31 are operated a column of trays 56 are moved by a cord 68 and an article on one of them is pushed off by a pin 61 on a rod 60. The keyboard 39 may have means to deliver to the purchaser a card marked with the value and name of the article corresponding to the push key 1<4> - - 16<4> operated.
