326,549. Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and Hyde, A. W. T. Dec. 17, 1928. Opening by tearing.-A case for tennis balls and the like comprises a spherical shell made in two or more part spherical members 1, 2 of celluloid or other cellulose derivatives or resins, retained in position by an adhesive. In the, form shown, the part 1 is stepped outwardly at 3 to form a recess for the rim 4 of the part 2. A tearing string 18 with a loose end 19 may be disposed in the joint to facilitate opening. In a modification, the component parts abut, and are retained by a band of similar substance to the shells, which mav have an end projecting to facilitate tearing. In another form, a wider abutting surface is provided and the band is omitted.
