Lawn-tennis and like markers. - A marking apparatus for tennis and other sports grounds consists of a rotatable receptacle for powdered material, the receptacle being provided with an inner sieve drum and with distributing slots. The apparatus is arranged to distribute the marking material only when being pushed in the normal direction. The receptacle a rotates with the side wheels b about an axle g secured to a frame f. A sieve drum c having openings e is arranged within the receptacle a so as to rotate with the same. The sieve-drum openings e and the distributing slots i in the receptacle a are provided with baffles k and m respectively to prevent the powdered material being distributed when the marker is being pulled backwards. Guards n are provided on the receptacle a adjacent to the slots i, and a guard box p, open at its base and where it adjoins the receptacle, is supported on two small wheels o. A cover s, extending over the guards n, is situated above the receptacle. The powdered material is introduced through an opening h. To enable an existing line to be followed by the marker, a small wheel t supported in a frame u is provided at the front of the apparatus. This frame can be folded as shown when not in use.
