Abstract

324,805. Gaunt, C. F. Jan. 28, 1929. Board games; dominoes, dice. - Playing pieces for games, such as dominoes, draughtsmen and dice. comprise a thin metal body formed of an upper and a lower metal member connected together and spaced apart. A domino, Fig. 2, comprises two anged plates 1, 7 separated by a box-shaped distance piece 9 to which the flanges are clinched. A second, U-shaped distance piece 11 is disposed within the piece 9. The surface of the distance piece 9 is blackened and is viewable through holes 5 in the upper plate 1 to form the necessary spots. A roundheaded rivet additionally secures the parts and serves as a pivot about which the domino may be caused to spin. In a modification, Fig. 5, the domino comprises a box-shaped member 23 closed by an apertured top plate 1 and containing a filler of wood, metal, plaster of Paris or other material. Alternatively the casing may be made of one piece of sheet aluminium or other material. The pieces may bear advertisements embossed, stamped or cut in the material of the casings.
