Moving-chamber apparatus. - Comprises detailed improvements in coin-freed apparatus, for vending liquids in measured quantities, of the type described in Specification 282,865, including means for varying the capacity of the measuring vessel within fine limits and for screening the mouth of the delivery pipe to prevent tampering. The hoisting-gear for the container is arranged within the storage receptacle for the fluid, to prevent the latter being spilt over into the insulating chest. The container 9 is connected by a chain 17 to a chain wheel 18 that can be rotated through chain gear 24 and bevel gear 22 by turning the handle 20. The handle is turned first in one direction to lower the container from the dotted-line discharge position into the fluid, thereby stirring the later, and then reversed to raise the filled container to the discharge position where the fluid is delivered through the members 12, 7 to the purchaser's receptacle. The angle of tilt of the container, and therefore the capacity, is varied by adjusting the position of the guiderest 13 by screw-and-nut mechanism 14, 15. A hinged weighted lid 9<b> also is fitted to the container, which opens by gravity in the tilted discharging position. The raising of a sliding door 8 to insert the purchaser's receptacle, causes a stop 33 to be moved through the medium of a cam 35 over the end of the delivery pipe to prevent tampering, while re-closing of the door reopens the pipe.
