Games of skill.-A game apparatus comprises a moving drum or table which traverses a model vehicle which is separate from and is capable of being moved relatively to the said drum or table by means under the control of the player. A rotatable drum 3 carrying a representation of a road 25 is driven by a falling weight 10 controlled by a lever 9 and has its speed regulated by the mechanical governor 17<a> and friction wheel 18<a>. A model vehicle 32 is carried by an arm 33 secured to a bracket 34 by an eye-bolt, 35. The bracket 34 is mounted on a member 35<a> connected at one end by a hinge 36 to an L-shaped member 37 rigidly carried by a slidable member 38 movable endwise upon a guide rod 39. The vehicle 32 can be moved to or from the periphery of the drum 3 by the adjustment of the nut 43 on the bolt 42. On the lower portion of a steering column 8 is provided a pulley 44 over which passes a flexible member 45 which passes over a pair of guide pulleys 46 and which has its ends attached to the sliding member 38. Thus turning of the steering wheel 7 moves the vehicle 32 transversely to the drum 3. The vehicle 32 is included in the same electrical circuit as contact wires 27 provided along the edges of the track 25 and the arranement is such that whenever the vehicle 32 touches these contacts an electrical circuit is completed or broken and the pointer 48 operated. Instead of using the falling weight 10, the drum 3 may be driven by any electrical, mechanical or gravitational means. In a modification the drum is replaced by a rotatable table on which a plurality of vehicles and steering mechanisms can be provided. The connections between the steering wheel or controlling member and the vehicle, or the connections between the driving source and drum or table, may normally be severed but may be restored by suitable coin-freed mechanism.
