Abstract

321,714. Firestone Tyre & Rubber Co. (1922), Ltd., (Firestone Tire & Rubber Co.). Aug. 17, 1928. Right to Patent relinquished. Tyre attachments to rims.-Tyre casings are formed by incorporating uncured or green bead units therein during their construction and afterwards curing the whole casing including the bead units. The bead unit may be formed of convolutions of rubber-insulated braided wire on which is wound a filler strip of uncured rubber 2 about which is folded a flip forming strip of uncured rubberized fabric 3, Fig. 2. The inner cords or fabrics of the tyre are first placed on the core. then the beads are placed in position, the outer 'plies 7, 8 of the cover are then applied and also the finishing elements, and then the whole is vulcanized.
