Abstract
321,409. Crabtree, J. A. July 30, 1928. Plug couplings.-Plug couplings are made by selection and assembly of separately produced and interchangeable elements including a handlepiece a, Fig. 1, a hand-shield b, Fig. 2, a two-pin insulator c, Fig. 3, and a three-pin insulator d, Fig. 4. The elements are moulded from powders of the synthetic resin type. Assembly of the elements a, c or a, b, c or a, b, d produces respectively a two-pin plug, a two-pin hand-shielded plug or a three-pin handshielded plug, the assemblies being held by a central screw passing through apertures b<5> - - d<5> into a screw-hole a<5>. The element a may also be formed for direct assembly with the element d to form a three-pin plug. The elements may be registered by annular ribs and recesses and relative rotation may be prevented by an oblong recess on the parts c, d engaged by a boss on the underside of the parts a, b and by radial ribs beneath the part a engaging recesses in the top of the part b. The electric leads pass out through side apertures d<2>, Fig. 4.
