Abstract

319,680. Stille, C. April 9, 1929. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 27, 1929]. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Electromagnetic apparatus.-Telegraphone reproducing heads are constructed so that the passage for the record wire between the magnets is automatically increased to permit passage of an enlargement such as might be produced in riveting or welding the wire after removal of a portion, as for example in resynchronizing it with a repaired picture film. The plates 3, 4, which carry the magnets 5, 6 and are spaced to provide a passage for the record wire 2, are mounted on right and left-handed screws 7<1>, 7<11> and 8<1>, 8<11> on discs 7, 8. The wire enters the head at a funnelshaped inlet and any enlargement 1 thereon contacts and rotates the disc 7 which is geared by toothed segments 11, 12 with the disc 8, and thereby separates the plates 3, 4 to allow the enlargement to pass until this, acting on the disc 8, returns the plates to normal position again as the enlargement passes from the head.
