The yarn spools are fed to the jet 26 on a chain carrier 8 provided with upturned fingers 18. The chain runs in a bed 3 having upturned sides 6 to which a casing or shield 19, of cross section slightly larger than the spools, is secured. A suitable pressure for the water is 2,000 lbs. per square inch.
