Roller-way conveyers.-In a furnace 'conveyer of the kind comprising a number of transverse driven shafts 4 on which are secured spaced discs or wheels 7, the latter are connected to each other by the engagement in recesses 9 in the hubs 8 of projections 10 on spacing sleeves' 11, the end sleeves 11<a> being rigidly secured to the shaft 4 by set-screws 12. The sleeves 11 may be hollow, the air pockets thus provided serving to insulate the shaft 4 from the heat of the furnace. In the modification shown in Fig. 6, the wheels 7 are independently mounted on the shaft 4, the driving connection being established by wedge pieces 17 inserted between ribs 16 projecting inwardly from the square hub 15. In both forms the rims of the wheels 7 are joined to the hubs by curved spokes 13.
