Abstract

317,023. Ashcroft, G. A., and Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd. March 8 1928. Explosives.-Lead trinitroresorcinate, alone or mixed with lead azide and intended for use in detonators, is mixed with a small quantity of the order of 3 per cent of the priming charge of a non-deleterious lubricating solid such as aluminium powder or graphite. The addition of aluminium powder or graphite to lead azide makes its colour different from that of tetryl and thus renders its presence over a charge of tetryl in a detonator easily seen.
