Abstract

Stopping pipes.-A device for stopping a gas main comprises a barrel A threaded at the basa to screw into the main S and containing a sliding block B carried on rods C which project gas-tight through slots in a cap A<2>. A felt washer H is arranged in the barrel to reduce the possibility of an escape of gas. The diaphragm is normally housed in the barrel and is brought into operative position by means of a handle 0.
