Gas analysis; diffusion apparatus for gases. - A diffusion apparatus for indicating change in the density of a gas comprises a porous vessel 1 enclosing a smaller porous vessel 1<1> and a manometer 9 or other means for indicating difference in pressure between the inner vessel and the atmosphere The vessels are conveniently cylindrical and mounted upon a common impermeable base 26; the inner vessel may have a reentrant surface as illustrated, and may be more porous than the outer one. The manometer may be replaced by a piston which may close an electric circuit when forced out by increase of pressure.
