Doors.-In constructions comprising spaced sheets secured in a frame bv members which clamp one of the plates against the frame and form an interlocking joint with the other plate, the interlocking joint is such that the plate secured by it can be'moved to allow one clamping member to be secured to the frame from the space between the sheets, after which the plate is interlocked with another clamping member, which is then secured from outside the frame. The invention is particularly applicable to the doors of gas ovens, that shown comprising an outer frame 1 in which are secured metal plates 3, 15 by means of angle-iron securing members 7, 10. The plate 3 is clamped between the horizontal flanges of the securing members and a flange 2 on the frame, a pad of sheet asbestos 4 preferably being interposed. The plate 15 has bent-over edges 13, 14 which interlock with the vertical flanges of the securing members. In assembling, the upper securing member 7 is first attached to the frame by an internal screw 5, the plate 15 hinging about the engaging edge of the member to allow access to the screw. The lower edge of the plate is then engaged with the vertical flange of the member 10, which is then secured from outside the frame by a screw 8. Only one screw thus appears outside the frame. The screws 5, 8 are inclined as shown to force the members 7, 10 against the front plate 3. The upper edge of the plate 15 may engage a hook or lug on the frame 1 instead of engaging the member 7.
