308,454. Gaunt, C. F. March 13, 1928. Buttons. - The ends 7, 8 of the wire shank or eye 6 are passed through a hole 4 in the back plate 3 of a button and are bent down at right-angles to the plane containing the eye in recesses or trenches 5 in the back plate so as to lie flush with or below the top thereof. Packing of one or more metal plates 10, with or without other packing of paper &c. 11, is interposed between the front and back plates 1, 3, which are connected together by inturning at 9 a peripheral flange 2 on the front plate 1.
