R÷ntgen-ray apparatus.-An X-ray tube has a stand or support secured to an earthed metallic envelope surrounding the tube and forming a unitary structure therewith. The metallic wall 1 of the tube has secured to it two metallic end members 2, 3 surrounding the insulating part of the tube and provided with apertures 4, 5 through which the cables pass. Rigidly secured to the end members are clamp rings 6, 11 to which legs 9, 10 preferably telescopic, are secured. The legs are pivoted to the rings so that when not in use they may be turned parallel to the axes of the tube.
