305,265. Radley, B. V. Nov. 4, 1927. Golf-practising appliances.-A device for practising golf-club swings comprises a vertical standard 3 mounted on a base member 1 and having a forwardly extending arm 4 pivoted thereto, the arm being provided with a hooked end 5 and indentations 6 for supporting a cord 10 threaded through holes in a golf ball 9. The length of cord can be adjusted to vary the position of the ball in relation to the ground. The lower end of the standard carries a clip 14 serving as a pivotal mounting for an arm 18 to which is secured a disc 20 forming a tee for a second ball 21. To the ball 9 is secured a member 12 with a V-shaped recess 13. The base member is provided with two studs and butterfly nuts 25, 26 to one or other of which can be attached a stop 29 to restrain the outward movement of the clip 14 in one direction or the other for right- and left-handed players. In using the appliance for short shots and putts the stroke is delivered on the ball 21 while the player keeps his eye on the ball 9; for the long shots the ball 21 is removed and arm 18 displaced to the dotted position, Fig 1, and the golf club head is swung through the space between the member 12 and the ground.
