Abstract

Controlling consuming devices. -In an electric display system, such as a route or position indicator for street or road maps, wherein guidance is furnished by the selective electrical illumination of different paths on the map, the separate switchcontrolled multiple electric circuits 1-4 are connected to tappings on a common resistance 5 there being as many tappings as there are circuits controlling the trails of lamps. Switches to engage switch contacts 6, 7 are provided for the several circuits, means being provided to prevent the overburning of the low voltage lamps by the closing of two overlapping circuits. Lamps 12 in series with the circuits serve to illuminate auxiliary information. In the circuit shown the current from the supply is conducted along the leads 8-10 to the resistance 5, the return from the lamp circuits being along a common path 14, and wires 16-18.
