303,936. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., Warren, H. W. H., and Ward, A. T. Oct. 22, 1927. Coating processes. - An insulating coating especially for wires and other metal surfaces is formed by applying a coating comprising glycerolphthalic acid resin and then a coating of oil varnish. The resin is plasticized, prior to its appli- - cation, with a plasticizer such as oleic acid, tricresyl phosphate, esters, &c. A suitable resin solution comprises furfural, glycol diacetate, dibutyl phthalate, coal tar naphtha and resin previously plasticized with 20 per cent oleic acid. The resin coating is baked on prior to the application of the oil varnish. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 287,940.
