Spring surfaces.-An air container for an air cushion comprises top and bottom panels of rubber sheeting 1 joined by reeds 2, 3, comprising a reed or reeds 2 extending transversely of another reed or reeds 3 in non-intersecting relation, clear spaces unoccupied by reeds being left between the edges of the container and the reeds and also beyond the ends of all the reeds.
