Abstract

301,064. Krupp Grusonwerk Akt.- Ges., F. Nov. 24, 1927. Rolling.-The shiiter-bars 6 of the delivery bed 4 are supported on and actuated by extensions of the shifter-bars 2 of the cooling-bed 3. In the rear position of the bars 2 shown in Fig. 1, lugs 13 on the bars 6 are held against pins 2<1> on the bars 2 by weighted bell cranks 7<1>. On the forward stroke, whilst the shifters hold the rolled bars clear of the beds, the two shifters move together until the lugs 13<1> srike adjustable abutments 12. The pins 2<1> then leave the lugs 13 and the shifters 6 partake only of the vertical component of motion. The rolled bars are thus spaced a smaller distance apart on the delivery bed than on the cooling-bed. The bell cranks may be replaced by a. positively acting device.
